JANUARY 1st  POLAR BEAR JUMP annual Jump at 1:00 pm at Lake DeSmet’s monument boat ramp. A great way to start the New Year with a refreshing dip through the ice, really gets the blood pumping. No membership fee, just a steely resolve and an adventurous spirit.

MAY 12-13th  SNICKERS BIG HORN SOCCER CUP 21 fields of soccer competition in action with more than 110 youth soccer teams (ages 8-14) from WY, MT, and SD held at the Big Horn Equestrian Center (south of Sheridan). This is a fun-filled weekend, with youth play area and activities, 15 concessionaires.

MAY 18-20th ANNUAL ROCKY MOUNTAIN LEATHER TRADE SHOW. All Your Leather Shop Needs Under One Roof – Holiday Inn, Sheridan, WY, voted #1 town in the West! Over 100 leather-related suppliers, manufacturers and dealers. Great for hobbyists and tradespersons alike. Public invited – free admission. Attendance: saddle makers, leather crafters & wholesalers from the US and abroad converge for the weekend! Workshops – fees apply. Home to World Leather Debut gallery and contest.

MAY 26-28th  HANG GLIDERS FLY-IN – Enjoy watching and photographing hang gliders from across the nation soaring above the Big Horn Mountains’ Sand Turn, west of Sheridan.

MAY 27th  EATONS’ HORSE DRIVE Exciting seeing over 100 horses cowboy-driven through Sheridan, passing State Information Center about 9 AM, down 5th Street past Historic Sheridan Inn, where Buffalo Bill auditioned Wild West Show acts, out to Eatons’ Dude Ranch, the oldest in nation!

JUNE 2nd – 3rd  HOOP JAM – 3-on-3 Street Basketball Tournament provides wholesome family entertainment with 18 courts/800 participants on Whitney Plaza in Downtown Sheridan Saturday and Sunday. Registration/welcome BBQ held the evening of Friday.

JUNE 30th KARZ ROD RUN – 150 hot rods, muscle, and classic cars and trucks on Historic Downtown Main Street (Loucks to Alger), with vendors on Sheridan’s Grinnell Plaza from 10AM–3PM. Awards presented to winners as judged by attendees in the kids, women and men categories.

JULY 6-7th  6th ANNUAL CHRIS LEDOUX SPURS AND SPIKES MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT during Sheridan WYO Rodeo 81st annual events, held at Top 100-ranked Powder Horn Golf Club. The tournament, open to the public, includes a practice round, BBQ, auction and live entertainment Friday, and on Saturday a four-person scramble.

JULY 11-14th  82st SHERIDAN WYO RODEO on the Million Dollar Tour of Professional Rodeos with the world’s top cowgirls and cowboys! Join in on the WYO Rodeo fun all week long! SEPTEMBER 2nd-3rd  DON KING DAYS – ‘Old West’ rodeo events, featuring match bronc riding, steer roping, wild cow milking, and end-of-season polo. The Big Horn Equestrian Center provides open space & no fence setting in the majestic mountain foothills south of Sheridan. The family-oriented celebration honors renown saddlemaker King, from 11 AM-5 PM daily.

DECEMBER 21st  FETTERMAN BATTLEFIELD TOUR – Living history uniforms and weapons demonstration. followed by walking tour of the battlefield where Captain Fetterman and command of 80 were defeated by Warriors. Meet at Fort Phil Kearny Historic Site Interpretive Center at 9:30AM, dressed for winter weather. Hot snacks to follow.
