Sheridan lies in the heart of Great Plains history – monuments, museums and historic sites mark its notable past. Bozeman Trail Days is held during the month of June, on the grounds of Fort Phil Kearny located on “The Bloody Bozeman Trail.” This fort was burned to the ground by Indians when the government abandoned this trail.
