Bozeman Trail Marker
A granite marker is located south of the town of Big Horn. It indicates the location of a portion of this trail.

Garryowen, Montana
Located approximately 65 miles north of Sheridan off I-90. Garryowen is the location of Sitting Bull's village and the area of the Reno fighting area during the battle of the Little Bighorn. The routes of the Northern Cheyenne and Oglala Sioux in their attack on Custer are located near Garryowen. There is also a museum located there.

Crook's Campsite
Located at the corner of Dow and Lewis, the area where the Goose creeks unite is the location of General George Crook's camp after having lodged near the Tongue River finding little grass for his horses. At the confluence of these two creeks, he found an abundance of "good grass, fine water and an ample supply of wood." On June 14, 1876, the Crow and Shoshone joined his troops as allies. They moved north, as he had information that Crazy Horse had large villages camped along the Rosebud.

Sheridan's First Permanent Structure
The site of the first cabin built in Sheridan County is marked by a stone monument located at Brooks and Smith Streets. The sod-roofed cabin can be seen in its simple splendor in Whitney Commons Park.
