Q: Who is George Beck?
A: George Beck, for whom the community of Beckton was named, was the son of a Kentucky Senator. As early as 1898, his ranch west of town was famous for its horses, polo field, racetrack and steeplechase course. Beck later served as the mayor of Cody, Wyoming.
