Q: When was the first paper published in the Sheridan area?
A: The Big Horn Sentinel was first published in 1884. Later newspapers in the Sheridan area included the Sheridan Post and the Sheridan Enterprise (both begun in 1887), the Dayton Harpoon (1900), and the Sheridan Journal (1925). In 1923, the Post and the Enterprise combined to form the Sheridan Post-Enterprise; it became the Sheridan Press in 1930.

IMG_0817The park has several features include a universally accessible play structure designed for fun and safety, large turf areas supporting any number of informal leisure activities,beautiful gardens, vintage lighting illuminating pedestrian walks and bike paths . Whitney Commons features a child friendly fountain that runs every half hour for approximately 15 minutes from May-September,children are encouraged to have fun and enjoy this wonderful water feature.

Whitney Commons, located between the Fulmer Library and the Senior Center, has something for everyone to enjoy.
