Cloud Peak Classic

May 18, 2024

The 4th Annual Cloud Peak Classic, named for the tallest peak in the Bighorn Mountains, offers an opportunity for elite athletes to showcase their strength, skills and bonafides in a premiere performance venue. Known for its scenic beauty, western heritage, and outlaw spirit, Sheridan is the ideal location to host this event.

Rachel Staff, co-organizer of the event, says “the Cloud Peak Classic was born out of a desire to offer a high-caliber fitness competition to athletes in the northeastern side of the state. The only other physique competition in Wyoming is in Cheyenne in the Fall, so I thought, what if we offer a show in Sheridan in the spring? Wyoming athletes would not have to wait a full year to compete in their home state, and it could help promote the sport of bodybuilding and powerlifting to a new community of athletes. I like to think of fitness competitions as a celebration of all the hard work the athletes have already done. All the preparation, training, and dieting is over, and the show is where you get to display your hard-earned results. And while this show promises to be a first-class event, it is open to any interested participant who has a desire to step on stage, regardless of age, gender, or experience.

“Given everything our community and country has gone through this past year, I want this show to give people an opportunity to focus on a positive goal for themselves, improve their physical health, and celebrate their accomplishments. Prizes will be awarded to the top 5 physique competitors in their respective classes, as well as the top male and female deadlifter.

Competitors will take the stage at the iconic WYO Theater in the heart of downtown Sheridan before a live audience. The WYO features an ample backstage area for pumping up and private makeup rooms for female competitors, while Cloud Peak Classic staff will be available throughout the eve to assist competitors. Expect a first-class, star-studded event from beginning to end.
