Explore Sheridan

We are kicking off this season with a look back — and a peek forward — at the Forever West Songwriter Festival. This glimpse at our first event should prime you for all the action at the 2022 Forever West Songwriter Festival, returning to Sheridan County August 18-20, 2022.

NASHVILLE ICONS IN BIGHORN MOUNTAIN COUNTRY

The Forever West Songwriter Festival is a unique celebration of music and western heritage featuring legendary songwriters  Anthony Smith, Wynn Varble, Brice Long, Wyatt McCubbin, Cameron Wrinkle, David Lee, Jesee Lee, and special guest Cory Leone Johnson. These artists have written hits for the likes of Brad Paisley, Lonestar, George Strait, Garth Brooks, Chris Young, Hank Williams Jr, Reba McEntire, and Chris Stapleton.

This year, in addition to the evening performance featuring award-winning hit-makers, we have added a special afternoon songwriter’s workshop that will allow guests to interact with songwriters in an intimate forum in the WYO Theater’s Mars Black Box. Tickets for the evening performance include admission to the songwriter’s workshop.

So many people to thank on this one — including our presenting festival sponsor, ERA Carroll Realty, and presenting sponsor for Season 2 of The Backyard, Fremont Toyota Sheridan.

None of this would have been possible without the work of Cory Leon Johnson – Cory is our connection to these Nashville icons, including Anthony Smith, Wynn Varble, Brice Long, and Frank Myers. And thank you to our Wyoming stars, Dugan Irby Band, Sarah Sample, and Slappers Only.

And finally, our wonderful hosts at The WYO Theater, Best Western Sheridan Center, and Spear-O-Wigwam.
