The Bighorn National Forest region boasts an abundance of wildlife, both on land and in the water. Rainbow, brown, brook and cutthroat fish are a few of the finned creatures found in the pristine mountain lakes and rivers. While the plush valleys around Sheridan and the forests of the Bighorns are home to an abundance of mule deer, whitetail deer, pronghorn antelope, elk, moose and wild turkey. Sightings of black bear, mountain lion and coyote are rare but also possible.
